“Last night, I spotted the man in black in the bar. It was the man I told you about. I chased him. I was so anxious not to lose him that I forgot to report it to you.”
Lucinda poured a cup of tea and asked indifferently, “So, did you catch up with him?”
“No,” Pierre admitted.
“He was too fast, and I couldn’t catch up with him. But I think, with everything that’s happened these past two days, it must have something to do with Mr. Shaw. He invited you to the bar. He may have set it up.”
Lucinda didn’t respond for a moment. She sipped her tea and thought for a while.
“Okay, I see.”
She glanced at the wound on Pierre’s face.
